DREAMS OF BUENOS AIRES
Dreams of Buenos Aires was commissioned by the Peachtree Wind Ensemble in Fayetteville, Georgia. Under the direction of Mike Daniell, Dreams of Buenos Aires was premiered by the Peachtree Wind Ensemble on April of 2011. Composer, Andrew F Poor, envisioned an elderly gentleman fondly reminiscing on times gone by. Like many dreams, the ideas appear in fragments and small ideas. Inspired by the classic Argentine tangos of the past, this work utilizes authentic harmonies, rhythms and melodic structure and is programmatic in design. |
