Mike Daniell is a graduate of The University of the State of New York in Albany, NY with a BS degree in Music History and Trumpet Performance, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville KY, with a MCM degree with emphasis in Trumpet Performance, Instrumental Pedagogy and Church Music. He holds the Honors Award Certificate in Orchestral Instrument Studies from that institution. Additional studies include trumpet, music education, choral and instrumental conducting at Columbus College, Columbus GA, and The University of South Florida, Tampa Florida.
He has studied trumpet with John Head, Leon Rapier, Don Owen, Paul Weise, Douglas Smith, and conducting with Milburn Price, Lara Haggard, and Douglas Smith.
Currently Mr. Daniell is a member of the instrumental faculty at Point University in West Point, GA, as the Director of the Concert Band and Professor of Brass. Mr. Daniell also conducts the Peachtree Wind Ensemble, and serves as Music Director of the North Fayette United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, GA. He has conducted musical productions for various community theatre groups.
Teaching and conducting responsibilities include positions in Savannah GA, as Director of Bands for the Westminster School, and St Andrews School. For 14 years he was on the Faculty of Armstrong Atlantic State University, where he served as Director of the Community Music School, Co-Conductor of the Armstrong Community Band, and Instructor of Music Education, Music Appreciation and Trumpet. He has served as clinician/guest conductor with high school, middle school and junior high school bands in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. His performance activities include playing trumpet with The Florida Gulf Coast Symphony, The Columbus Symphony, and The Savannah Symphony. In addition, Mike has performed with The Georgia Brass Band, The Louisville Brassworks Quintet, the Fountain City Brass Quintet, Savannah Symphony Brass Quintet, and as soloist with various HS bands.
Bill Greenhaw - Assistant Conductor
Bill Greenhaw is a native of Alabama and a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a bachelor's degree in Music Education, and The University of Alabama with a master's degree in Music Education. He also holds master's and educational specialist degrees in Administration from West Georgia College and State University.
He served as Director of Bands at schools in Georgia and Alabama and was Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Alabama as well as serving in the 55th Army Band. Before retiring from Fayette County Schools in 2004, he served as an administrator in the Fayette County Georgia School System for 23 years.
Mr. Greenhaw has conducted several of his compositions and arrangements for band at schools and venues in the southeast and has compositions for concert band published with Matrix Music Publishers. He performs as trombonist and bass trombonist locally and is a member of the NBA, GMEA, MENC and ASCAP. Mr. Greenhaw has two adult children, both married, and has been a resident of Fayette County for 30 years with his wife, Winkie.
